Certified Industrial Hygienist

 

IHI Environmental has an immediate opening for a Certified Industrial Hygienist in our Wheat Ridge, Colorado office.

 

Job Description: The successful candidate will perform a variety of health and safety services that will include Exposure Monitoring, Construction Site Safety & Health, Hazardous Materials Consulting, Accident/Near Miss Investigations, OSHA/Regulatory Compliance, Workplace Hazard Control, Job Hazard Analysis, Industrial Hygiene Surveys, Ventilation Evaluation, Chemical, Physical, and Biological Evaluation, and Health and Safety Training.

 

Qualifications: Candidates will have a Bachelors or Masters degree. Certification as a CIH is required for this position and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable, but not required.  The required skills for this position include the ability to conduct full-scope project management, prepare technical and cost proposals, supervise field staff, maintain and develop client relations, and communicate effectively.  Strong writing skills and computer skills are beneficial.

Industrial Hygiene Project Manager

 

IHI Environmental has an immediate opening for an experienced Industrial Hygiene Project Manager in our Emeryville, California office.

 

Job Description: This position requires a full range of project management experience in Industrial Hygiene sampling, indoor air quality investigations, safety and health program development, environmental training, asbestos and lead paint surveys, and abatement monitoring.

 

Qualifications: Candidates will have a Bachelors degree and a minimum of five years environmental or engineering experience, or a Masters degree and three years experience. Certification as a DOSH Asbestos Consultant (CAC) is required. Cal-DHS certification in Lead-Related Construction (Inspector/Assessor) is also highly desirable. The required skills for this position include the ability to conduct full-scope project management, prepare technical and cost proposals, supervise field staff, maintain and develop client relations, and communicate effectively.

Environmental Specialist

 

IHI has an immediate opening in its Phoenix, Arizona office for an entry-level Environmental Specialist.

 

Job Description: The position involves performing building inspections, field surveys, indoor air monitoring, and abatement project oversight involving asbestos, lead based paint, and mold. The technician should poses basic scientific knowledge, recognize growth areas, and demonstrate a willingness to expand technical skills. Once trained, the technician should be able to work in the field with minimal supervision, recognize issues in the field and seek appropriate guidance from the manager, keep the manager updated with field survey progress, and exhibit professional behavior and dress during field survey activities. The technician should be able to generate technical reports from templates that meet standards and complete standard reports within budgeted timeframes. In general, the technician should display technical awareness, communicate effectively with management and clients, and show initiative and motivation to accomplish strategic goals.

 

Qualifications: Candidate should have an Associates, Technical, or Bachelors Degree in a field of Science. Required skills include ability to perform fieldwork with minimum supervision, ability to manage small projects, effective writing, and good interpersonal skills. Current EPA AHERA certifications as Inspector and Contractor/Supervisor preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided. The position will require some out of town travel. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Industrial Hygiene Project Manager

 

IHI has an immediate opening in its Phoenix, Arizona office for an Industrial Hygiene Project Manager.

 

Job Description: Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate various Industrial Hygiene related projects. Work requires a broad knowledge of industrial hygiene principles related to human exposure through inhalation, ingestion, noise, and contact. Perform building inspections, field surveys, indoor air monitoring, and abatement project oversight. Report findings orally to colleagues and client groups. Prepare written technical reports. Review MSDSs or other available information and recommend worker protection measures. Perform noise and ventilation measurements.

 

Specifically, the candidate will work on projects involving industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, mold, asbestos, lead, noise evaluations and control, confined space entries, hazardous waste site operations, health and safety program and policy development, evaluation of ventilation systems and other engineering controls, and will provide emergency response coordination. The successful candidate must be proficient using Microsoft Office software.

 

Qualifications: 1-5 years experience working in the Environmental Health and Safety field. Bachelors Degree in Industrial Hygiene or Occupational & Environmental Health, or M.S. in Industrial Hygiene or Occupational & Environmental preferred. Bachelors Degree in science or chemistry a plus. Current EPA AHERA certifications as Inspector and Contractor/Supervisor preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Job Description: The position will include performing classical industrial hygiene consulting services, including industrial hygiene regulatory compliance evaluations as well as asbestos, lead-based paint, IAQ and mold consulting services.  It is expected that the successful candidate will become a long-term member of the management team and eventually become our Regional Manager for all IH services.

Mid- to Senior-Level Environmental Assessor

 

IHI Environmental has an immediate opening for an experienced mid- to senior-level Environmental Assessor in our Salt Lake City, Utah office.  It is anticipated this will be a full time salaried position with benefits.

 

Job Description: The position will primarily involve conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and Property Transaction Screens (PTSs), writing proposals, interacting with clients, and other business development duties.  For the ESAs and PTSs, tasks will include conducting site visits and evaluations, regulatory document review, historical research, and report writing.  Some travel is expected.  This position may lead to future Environmental Assessment Program management opportunities, depending on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.

 

Qualifications: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience conducting Phase I ESAs and PTSs, with a strong knowledge of the ASTM standards applicable to each.  Ideally, the successful candidate will have a background in Earth Science, Environmental Science, or other related technical fields.  Required skills include the ability to perform work with minimum supervision, to write effectively, and to communicate effectively with clients and co-workers.  A strong understanding of environmental compliance and regulations is beneficial.  Strong writing skills are a must and strong computer skills are beneficial.
