Certified Industrial Hygienist

 

IHI Environmental has an immediate opening for a Certified Industrial Hygienist in our Wheat Ridge, Colorado office.

 

Job Description: The successful candidate will perform a variety of health and safety services that will include Exposure Monitoring, Construction Site Safety & Health, Hazardous Materials Consulting, Accident/Near Miss Investigations, OSHA/Regulatory Compliance, Workplace Hazard Control, Job Hazard Analysis, Industrial Hygiene Surveys, Ventilation Evaluation, Chemical, Physical, and Biological Evaluation, and Health and Safety Training.

 

Qualifications: Candidates will have a Bachelors or Masters degree. Certification as a CIH is required for this position and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable, but not required.  The required skills for this position include the ability to conduct full-scope project management, prepare technical and cost proposals, supervise field staff, maintain and develop client relations, and communicate effectively.  Strong writing skills and computer skills are beneficial.

Industrial Hygiene Project Manager

 

IHI Environmental has an immediate opening for an experienced Industrial Hygiene Project Manager in our Emeryville, California office.

 

Job Description: This position requires a full range of project management experience in Industrial Hygiene sampling, indoor air quality investigations, safety and health program development, environmental training, asbestos and lead paint surveys, and abatement monitoring.

 

Qualifications: Candidates will have a Bachelors degree and a minimum of five years environmental or engineering experience, or a Masters degree and three years experience. Certification as a DOSH Asbestos Consultant (CAC) is required. Cal-DHS certification in Lead-Related Construction (Inspector/Assessor) is also highly desirable. The required skills for this position include the ability to conduct full-scope project management, prepare technical and cost proposals, supervise field staff, maintain and develop client relations, and communicate effectively.

Asbestos Program Manager

 

IHI has an immediate opening in its Phoenix, Arizona office for an Asbestos Program Manager.

Job Description: The Program Manager (PM) is responsible for developing Program goals, leading business development efforts for the Program, and is the initial point of contact for large proposals and new clients in the asbestos Program. The PM will conduct routine meetings with direct reports regarding client and project issues, workload, and ensure that all project deadlines are being met. The PM will review all deliverables produced in the Program and implement administrative procedures that meet company policy and procedures, SOPs, and standard practices. The PM is responsible for overseeing all invoicing in the Program, ensuring accurate, timely and complete invoices that meet all contractual requirements and oversees risk management within the Program. The PM will review, critique, and produce complex technical reports. The PM has extensive knowledge of EPA, HUD, and OSHA rules and regulations governing asbestos and lead-based paint with the ability to evaluate technical methodology and analytical results. The PM will produce high-level technical documents for important clients with little assistance. Specifically, the candidate will work on projects involving asbestos and lead-based paint and will provide emergency response coordination.

Qualifications: 8+ years experience working in the Environmental Health and Safety field. Bachelors Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational & Environmental Health, Physical Science, or Chemistry is a plus. Current EPA AHERA certifications as Inspector and Contractor/Supervisor are essential. Lead Risk Assessor and EPA AHERA certifications as Management Planner and Project Designer preferred. Clear and effective communication skills are essential. The successful candidate must be proficient using Microsoft Office software, must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation.

Project Manager

 

IHI has an immediate opening in its Phoenix, Arizona office for a Project Manager.

Job Description: Directly responsible for coordination of small to medium sized technical projects and primarily accountable for project budgets and cost accounting. The individual may coordinate 5-10 projects which generate technical reports for review, or oversee a single larger project supervising multiple personnel. Independently manage the preparation and successful execution of proposals. Control and manage all aspects of projects, including scheduling, deliverables, staff, communications, and progress for projects. The candidate understands the contract process and works to reduce risk through the proper use of contracts. The individual produces template reports with little supervision, incorporates working knowledge of rules and regulations, and understands the correct methodology and analysis required. The candidate will communicate consistently with clients and effectively identify client needs.

Specifically, the candidate will work on projects involving asbestos, lead, industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, and will provide emergency response coordination. The successful candidate must be proficient using Microsoft Office software.

Certified Industrial Hygienist

 

IHI Environmental's Salt Lake City office is seeking an American Board of Industrial Hygiene-Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with a broad range of industrial hygiene experience and strong writing and client management skills.

 

Job Description: The successful candidate will provide comprehensive IH consulting services to a wide variety of clients and industries. Duties will include project management and oversight of industrial hygiene technicians. Key functions of this position include writing technical reports, reviewing the writing of others, maintaining and developing client relations, developing and providing training and presentations, and preparing cost proposals.

 

Qualifications: The successful candidate must be a CIH in good standing; must be a strong verbal and written communicator with a broad range of experience in all aspects of IH; and must demonstrate strong computing and e-communications skills. Local travel is a fundamental requirement of this position; therefore, the candidate must have a valid driver's license and a reliable, insured vehicle. The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to pass/maintain a security clearance, and must be able to lift 80 pounds and wear respiratory protection. Industrial Hygiene and Safety Technician

 

IHI Environmental's Salt Lake City office is seeking a career-motivated entry-level Industrial Hygiene and Safety Technician with strong verbal and written communication skills, and a professional appearance and demeanor.

 

Job Description: The successful candidate will perform building inspections, field surveys, indoor air monitoring, safety training, construction project oversight, and will document daily project activities and produce written technical reports for clients. This job will involve work with asbestos, lead-based paint, and various hazardous materials. After training and a reasonable period of experience, the successful candidate must be able to work independently under the oversight of senior staff, and must be capable of conducting independent research to devise solutions to safety and health problems identified during field work. The technician must also be able to efficiently produce technical reports from standardized templates that require minimal editing.

 

Qualifications: The successful candidate should possess basic scientific knowledge; computer competencies, such as email, word processing with Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong speaking and writing skills are required. The position requires local and out-of-town travel, which will require a valid driver's license and a reliable, insured vehicle. In addition, candidates must be able to lift 80 pounds, and wear respiratory protection, which will require medical qualification. Drug testing may be required.

 

Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a formal Associates or Bachelors Degree in a field of Science; however, we will consider applicable health and safety experience in lieu of a completed degree. Possessing current Utah DAQ/EPA AHERA certifications for asbestos and/or lead-based paint will add value to a candidate's application. Training, medical qualification, and personal protective equipment will be provided at no cost to the successful candidate.
